Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (1 stick)
  • 5 cups granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 can evaporated milk (12 oz)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Prepare a cold water bath to cool the fudge quickly.
  • Grease an 8x12 or 9x13 pan with butter and set aside.
  • Mix sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a pot.
  • Stir in evaporated milk and regular milk until smooth.
  • Heat the mixture, stirring constantly until it reaches a boil.
  • Perform a water test for soft ball stage (240°F).
  • Stir in vanilla extract and butter.
  • Dip the pot in cold water, stirring to cool the fudge.
  • Mix in chopped pecans.
  • Pour into a prepared pan and let cool before cutting.

Notes
