Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 jar coconut pecan frosting
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans for the batter

Topping

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup chopped pecans for the topping

Instructions

  • Combine the cake mix, oil, eggs, water, and frosting in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  • Fold in the 1/2 cup of finely chopped pecans into the batter.
  • Spread the mixture into a well-greased 9x13 baking dish.
  • Bake at the pre-heated oven temperature for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • While the cake is still warm, melt butter with sweetened condensed milk in a pot over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  • After removing from heat, stir in the chopped pecans.
  • Spread this topping mixture over the warm cake and allow it to settle into the sponge before serving.
