Ingredients

Onion Prep

  • 6 sweet onions sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Cream Sauce

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup white cooking wine
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay the sliced onions on the baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Bake for 15 minutes.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine white cooking wine, butter, garlic powder, heavy whipping cream, and cayenne pepper. Let simmer until the mixture thickens slightly.
  • Remove the onions from the oven and increase temperature to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (232 degrees Celsius). Pour the prepared cream sauce over the onions, sprinkle generously with grated Parmesan, and cover with foil. Bake for 20 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden on top.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. This dish can be assembled a day ahead and baked when needed.
