Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage large, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion
  • 6 slices bacon chopped
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp distilled vinegar
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cut the cabbage into pieces and slice the onion.
  • Fry the bacon in a Dutch oven until crisp, then set it aside.
  • Add oil to the bacon grease and introduce cabbage and onions.
  • Stir and cook the cabbage until it turns clear and gains some browning.
  • Add vinegar, season with salt and pepper, and mix in the cooked bacon. Allow flavors to meld for a few more minutes.
