Equipment

  • Large sauté pan

Ingredients

  • Whole chicken cut into 8 pieces
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp pepper
  • 2 tsp sage
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  • Step 1: Marinate the chicken: Place the chicken pieces in a bowl, pour milk over them, and refrigerate for an hour.
  • Step 2: Coat the chicken: In a sealed plastic bag, combine flour, salt, pepper, and sage. Shake well to mix. Coat the chicken evenly with the flour mixture and refrigerate until needed.
  • Step 3: Fry the chicken: Heat oil in a large sauté pan over medium heat. Carefully add the chicken pieces, cover the pan, and cook on each side until brown and cooked through, approximately 10 minutes per side.

Notes

To store leftover fried chicken, place it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. For longer storage, you can freeze the chicken, but bear in mind that the crust may lose some crispiness upon reheating. To reheat, use an oven to maintain the crispy texture.
