Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground sirloin
  • 24 oz meat-flavored spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp pepper
  • 1/2 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 8 oz small curd cottage cheese
  • 6 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • 6 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preparing the Meat Sauce: Brown ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a large frying pan. Drain the meat and add spaghetti sauce. Simmer until ready to layer the lasagna.
  • Step 2: Preparing the Cheese Mixture: Mix sour cream, cottage cheese, cream cheese, 3 tablespoons of Parmesan, and salt in a large bowl.
  • Step 3: Cooking the Noodles: Boil and drain the lasagna noodles.
  • Step 4: Layering the Lasagna: Start with a layer of meat mixture, noodles, cheese mixture, shredded cheeses, and Parmesan in a 9x13 pan. Repeat for three layers.
  • Step 5: Final Layering: Top the lasagna with shredded mozzarella and bake until golden brown.

Notes

To store leftover lasagna, refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze in a container placed inside a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
