Ingredients:
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter, softened
2 (3 ounces package) cream cheese, softened
2 1/4 cups sugar
6 Eggs
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups cake flour
FROSTING
1 cup of sugar
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips (and some extra for sprinkling)
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 162 degrees C or 325 degrees F.
Step 2: Apply cooking spray in a 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
Step 3: Add the cream cheese, butter, and sugar into a mixing bowl. Beat until well combined.
Step 4: Add eggs gradually and beat every addition.
Step 5: Add vanilla and beat every addition.
Step 6: Add flour and whisk until well combined.
Step 7: Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
Step 8: Place the pan inside the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean after inserting it in the middle.
Step 9: Remove the cake from the oven and let it sit on a wire rack to cool at room temperature.
To Make the Frosting:
Step 1: Place a large saucepan on the stove, then add milk and sugar. Stir until well mixed.
Step 2: Turn the heat to medium and allow the mixture to boil.
Step 3: Cover the pan and cook the mixture undisturbed for about 3 minutes.
Step 4: Add chocolate chips and butter. Stir until well blended.
Step 5: Remove pan from the heat and allow the mixture to cool at room temperature.
Step 6: Spread the mixture on top of the cake together with extra chips.
Step 7: Serve and enjoy!
