Ingredients:
5 Eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch kosher salt
1 stick melted butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 loaf challah bread, sliced 1” thick
Confectioners’ sugar, for serving (optional)
Directions:
1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.
2. Add maple syrup, melted butter, and brown sugar into a mixing bowl. Whisk until well mixed.
3. Transfer the mixture into a baking dish and spread it evenly.
4. Place the bread over the mixture.
5. In another mixing bowl, add the eggs, cream, vanilla, milk, nutmeg, salt, and cinnamon. Stir until well combined.
6. Spread the mixture on top of the bread.
7. Cover everything and place it inside the fridge for about an hour. This will let the bread soak all of the delicious flavours!
8. Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes or until done.
9. Remove from the oven and sprinkle sifted sugar on top. Allow it to cool for a few minutes.
10. Serve warm and enjoy!
