The perfect side dish that can go well with pretty much anything is this Cabbage Casserole! Enjoy this packed casserole with cabbage, herbs, and a lot more! In less than an hour, it’s ready to be devoured!
Ingredients:
1-pound green cabbage, (1/2 medium head or 6 c finely sliced)
1/4 c all-purpose flour
1/4 c sour cream
4 large Eggs
4 ounces mozzarella cheese, (1 1/2 c shredded)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons dill, fresh or frozen, chopped
1/4 c mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons green onion, finely chopped, plus more to garnish
Directions:
1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.
2. Brush a 9-inch round pie dish with butter.
3. Add sour cream, 4 eggs, 1/4 cup mayonnaise, and 1/4 cup sour cream into a mixing bowl. Whisk until well combined.
4. In a separate mixing bowl, add 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch, 1/4 cup flour, and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. Whisk until well blended.
5. Transfer the flour mixture into the bowl with the batter. Stir until well mixed.
6. Add the cabbage slices into a mixing bowl, then sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of salt on top. Squeeze the cabbage.
7. Add 2 tablespoons of dill and 2 tablespoons of green onion, then stir until well mixed.
8. Transfer the cabbage to the prepared pie dish.
9. Pour the batter over the cabbage and spread it evenly.
10. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the batter.
11. Place the pie dish inside the preheated oven and bake for 35 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.
12. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes at room temperature.
13. Serve warm and enjoy!
