These Lemon Cream Cheese Bars are so great that you don’t need to think twice to consider trying this recipe. The perfect dessert you will ever serve is only a couple of minutes away from achieving. You are so in for a treat. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 tbsp butter, melted
2 (8 oz.) packages of cream cheese, softened
1/2 c white sugar
Two lemons, zested and juiced, divided
3 tbsp white sugar
2 (8 oz.) packages of refrigerated crescent roll dough (such as Pillsbury® Recipe Creations®), divided
cooking spray
Directions:
1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
2. Line with aluminium foil a 9×13-inch baking dish, then apply cooking spray on it.
3. Add 1 can of crescent roll into the prepared baking dish, then press it to the bottom and sides.
4. In the bowl of a stand mixer, add lemon juice and lemon zest. Beat until well blended.
5. Add 1/2 cup sugar and cream cheese. Beat for a few minutes until the texture becomes smooth.
6. Pour the mixture on top of the dough and spread it evenly.
7. Add the 2nd dough over the cream cheese layer and unroll it. Press the bottom and sides as well.
8. Brush the dough with melted butter.
9. In a mixing bowl, add the rest of the lemon zest and 3 tbsp of sugar. Stir until well blended. Sprinkle the mixture on top of the dough.
10. Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.
11. Remove from the oven and allow it to rest for 20 minutes at room temperature.
12. Transfer onto a clean cutting board, then slice it into even squares. Place them inside the fridge to chill for an hour.
13. Serve and enjoy!
Note:
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then place them inside the fridge.
