I am so excited to share this recipe with you today! These French Apple Pastries are perfect to serve on pretty much any occasion! In just about an hour, you can enjoy these heavenly treats! You don’t need to worry about leftovers because I know there won’t be any! Give this recipe a try now and taste perfection yourself. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
powdered sugar for dusting
1 package of Wewalka Puff Pastry
½ (120 ml) c of unsweetened apple sauce
5 small Gala apples
¼ cup (60 ml) of apple jelly
1 egg, beaten
Directions:
1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 218 degrees C or 425 degrees F.
2. Slice the peeled apples into four portions.
3. Place the apple slice onto a cutting board, then thinly slice each into pieces.
4. Unroll the puff pastry onto parchment paper and allow it to sit for a few minutes at room temperature.
5. Transfer the pastry onto a flat surface, then slice it into three vertical cuts.
6. Slice each strip into 9 equal squares, then place them onto a baking sheet.
7. Brush each apple slice with egg wash, then fill each with 1 1/2 tablespoon of apple sauce.
8. Top each with apple cheek, then fold beginning from the side to the middle.
9. Brush each with egg wash again.
10. Place them inside the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes or until done.
11. Place a saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to low. Add the apple jelly and let it melt. Remove from the heat.
12. Brush the apple jelly over each of the pastries.
13. Allow the apple pastries to cool completely at room temperature.
14. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
15. Serve warm and enjoy!
