I learned about this a couple of months ago, and I am so glad that I gave it a try because I never would have tasted perfection! If I were you, I won’t wait another minute not knowing how delicious this is. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
½ c butter, melted
1 ½ c of shelled pecan halves
1 loaf day-old French baguette
1 c sugar
5 Eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 ½ c of brown sugar
3½ c whole milk
Directions:
1. Slice the bread into small cuts. Let them sit at room temperature for at least 1 hour.
2. Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
3. In a mixing bowl, add eggs and beat until smooth.
4. Add vanilla, milk, and sugar. Whisk until well blended.
5. Add the slices of bread into a baking pan, then pour the egg mixture over. Allow the bread to soak.
6. In a mixing bowl, add melted butter and brown sugar. Stir until well blended.
7. Add pecans and stir again until well incorporated.
8. Pour the butter and pecans mixture on top of the soaked bread. Fold the bread.
9. Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 45 to 55 minutes or until done.
10. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature for about 20 minutes.
11. Serve and enjoy!
Note:
I suggest you use yesterday’s bread for this recipe because they can absorb the mixture better compared to new ones.
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then place them inside the fridge.
