Ingredients:
9 c thinly sliced, peeled apples (9 medium)
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 c powdered sugar
1 box refrigerated pie crusts, softened as directed on the box
1/4 tsp salt 1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 c granulated sugar
Directions:
1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 225 degrees C or 450 degrees F. Unwrap the pie crust from its packaging.
2. Sprinkle flour onto a flat surface, then unroll the pie crust on it. Roll into small rectangles. Put them into a pie pan and press them to the bottom and sides. Fold the excess crust on the sides and crimp the ends as well.
3. In a mixing bowl, add salt, lemon juice, granulated sugar, flour, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Whisk everything until well blended.
4. Add the apples, then toss until well coated with the flour mixture. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pie crust and spread it evenly.
5. Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 38 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.
6. Remove the Apple Slab Pie from the oven and let it sit for about 45 minutes at room temperature. Prepare the glaze.
For the Glaze:
1. Add powdered sugar and milk into a mixing bowl. Whisk until well incorporated and dissolve the sugar.
2. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake. Let it rest for another 30 minutes or until the glaze has set completely.
3. Slice into even servings.
4. Serve and enjoy!
Note:
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then place them inside the fridge.
