Cream, whipped cream, or ice cream, if desired
1 c sugar
1/2 tsp salt
Directions:
Add blackberries and sugar into a mixing bowl. Stir the berries until well coated with sugar. Leave them at room temperature for at least 20 minutes until it turns into syrup.
Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.
In a mixing bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt, and milk. Stir everything until well incorporated.
Transfer the batter to a square pan and spread it evenly.
Pour the prepared blackberries over the batter and spread it evenly.
Place it in the preheated oven and bake for about 45 to 55 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes at room temperature.
Serve with sour cream. Enjoy!
Notes:
Feel free to use raspberries instead of blueberries for this recipe.
You can add lime zest and lemon to give this a refreshing flavor!
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then place them in the fridge. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes before serving again.
