These delicious treats are such delights! The glaze of these Almond Bars is what I like the most! Made with just three ingredients, it is such a great addition to the recipe! You can enjoy these heavenly treats in less than an hour!
Ingredients:
For the bars:
1 c unsalted butter, softened
1 tsp almond extract
½ tsp kosher salt
4 tsp baking powder
2 large Eggs
2 c granulated sugar
3 ½ c all-purpose flour
For the topping:
1 c sliced almonds
2 tbsp milk (any variety)
For the glaze:
2 tbsp milk (any variety)
2 c powdered sugar
½ tsp almond extract
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 325 degrees F.
Brush an 18×13-inch sheet pan with butter.
Add baking powder, salt, and flour into a mixing bowl. Whisk until well incorporated.
In another bowl, add sugar and butter. Beat for a few minutes until well incorporated. Add the almond extract and eggs, then beat again until well blended.
Transfer the flour mixture into the bowl with the butter mixture, then whisk until well combined.
Transfer the dough to the prepared baking dish and press it.
Brush the top of the prepared dough with milk, then scatter the almond slices over.
Place it in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes.
Remove from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes at room temperature. Slice it into even bars.
For the Glaze:
Add milk, sugar, and almond extract into a mixing bowl. Stir until well blended.
Drizzle the glaze over the bars and allow them to rest for a few more minutes.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then place them in the fridge.
