These Stuffed Cabbage Rolls are total comfort food! They are loaded with meat, rice, tomato sauce, and a lot more! You have got to give this recipe a try, I’m telling you! With 18 servings, everyone is going to have a bite of these heavenly treats. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 Eggs
14 oz. tomato soup, undiluted
28 oz. diced tomatoes
2 lbs. of ground beef
1 head of cabbage
1 onion, finely diced
14 oz. tomato sauce
1 pound sauerkraut
Salt and pepper
½ c uncooked white rice
½ green pepper, finely diced
¼ c grated carrot
1 tbsp dried parsley
Directions:
Stovetop Method:
Blanch the cabbage leaves and separate the leaves.
Add uncooked rice, ground beef, grated carrot, onions, salt, pepper, and diced green pepper into a large bowl. Stir everything until well incorporated.
Stuff each cabbage leaf with 1/2 cup of the meat mixture, then fold the sides. Repeat the process with the rest of the leaves and meat mixture.
In a mixing bowl, add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato soup. Stir until well blended.
Arrange 1/2 of the cabbage rolls to the bottom of a Dutch oven. Pour 1/2 of the tomato sauce mixture and 1/2 of the sauerkraut over the cabbage rolls. Repeat the process until everything is arranged in layers.
Cover the Dutch oven and cook everything for about 3 to 4 hours.
Serve and enjoy!
Crockpot Method:
Repeat steps 1 to 5.
Cover and seal the crockpot. Cook the cabbage rolls for about 4 to 6 hours on a high setting or 6 to 8 hours on a low setting.
Serve and enjoy!
Oven Method:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.
Repeat steps 1 to 5.
Place the Dutch oven in the preheated oven and cook for about 4 hours.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then put them in the fridge. They can last up to 4 days or 4 months in the freezer.
