This will be a great addition to your “Best Recipes” list! These Greek Meatballs are insanely delicious but very easy to make! Can’t complain. This recipe is simply the best! A must-try indeed!
Ingredients:
MEATBALLS:
1 Egg
1/4 c fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 red onion, grated
500g / 1 pound beef mince (ground beef or lamb)
6 large mint leaves, finely chopped (spearmint if you can, it’s authentic)
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
200g / 6.5 ounces pork mince (ground pork), or more beef
1 c / 60g panko breadcrumbs (or use normally)
Black pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
COOKING / SERVING:
Tzatziki or Greek yogurt
Finely chopped parsley, optional, for garnish
1/2 c flour
3 tablespoons olive oil
Directions:
Grate the onion and place them into a large mixing bowl.
Add the rest of the ingredients for the meatballs into the bowl with the grated onion, then use your clean hands to mix everything until well incorporated. Place it in the fridge to chill for at least an hour. (This step is optional)
Form about 35 meatballs out of the meat mixture.
Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high. Add oil and allow it to become hot.
Coat each meatball with a bit of flour, then place them in batches on the hot skillet and cook for about 5 minutes or until they turn brown. Transfer them onto a clean plate. Repeat the process with the rest of the meatballs.\
To Bake the Meatballs:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Drizzle olive oil over the meatballs, then place them into a baking dish. Place them in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until they turn brown.
