It’s my pleasure to share this recipe with you today! This Pioneer Woman’s Sausage Gravy is insanely delicious! I know for a fact that everyone is going to love it. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
SAUSAGE GRAVY:
1/3 c All-purpose Flour
1/2 teaspoon Seasoned Salt
3-4 c Whole Milk
2 teaspoons Black Pepper – More to Taste if Desired
1 pound Breakfast Sausage (in a roll or tube) choose whichever is your favorite
BISCUITS:
1 1/2 stick (3/4 c) Cold Butter, Cut into Pieces
1 1/4 c Buttermilk
2 tablespoons Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
3 c All-purpose Flour
Directions:
To Make the Sausage Gravy:
Place a large, heavy skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Tear the sausage into little cuts, then put them into the hot skillet. Cook for a few minutes until they turn brown.
Turn the heat down to medium-low, then add flour gradually add the flour. Whisk and cook for about a minute to remove the raw taste.
Add milk, then stir until well blended. Cook for about 10 minutes or until the texture becomes thick. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add a bit of milk if the texture becomes too thick.
Serve with the biscuits. Enjoy!
To Make the Biscuits:
Prepare the oven and preheat it to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
In your food processor, add salt, baking powder, and flour. Pulse a few times until well incorporated.
Add the butter, then pulse again until well incorporated. Add buttermilk if needed.
Divide the dough into two, then place them onto separate baking sheets. Place them in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven when they turn golden brown. Brush melted butter right away. Enjoy!
Notes:
You can add herbs to the gravy for more flavor.
