Loaded with delicious flavors, this Apple Slab Pie is perfect to serve on any occasion! This recipe is super easy to make. All you need to do is to follow these easy steps, and you are good to go. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 c powdered sugar
2 tbsp milk
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
9 c thinly sliced, peeled apples (9 medium)
1/4 tsp salt 1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
1 c granulated sugar
1 box refrigerated pie crusts, softened as directed on the box
Directions:
1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 225 degrees C or 450 degrees F.
2. Remove the pie crust from the packaging.
3. Unroll each pie crust, then place them onto a floured surface. Roll each into small rectangles, then press them onto a pie pan.
4. Fold the excess crust on the sides and crimp the ends.
5. In a mixing bowl, add lemon juice, flour, granulated sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Whisk until well blended.
6. Add the apples, then toss until well coated with the flour mixture. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pie crust and spread it evenly.
7. Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 33 to 38 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.
8. Remove the Apple Slab Pie from the oven and allow it to rest for at least 45 minutes at room temperature.
For the Glaze:
1. Add powdered sugar and milk into a mixing bowl. Whisk until well blended. Make sure that the sugar is dissolved completely.
2. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake and spread it evenly. Let it rest for another 30 minutes.
3. Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Feel free to add more glaze if you prefer.
Slice the pie into even pieces. This recipe can yield up to 15 servings.
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then place them inside the fridge.
