Ingredients:
1 tbsp oil
1 lb. boneless and skinless chicken breasts
1/2 c brown sugar or honey
1 tbsp soy sauce (gluten-free for gluten-free)
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1/2 c hot/chilli sauce (such as Frank’s Red Hot or Sriracha)
1 pinch red pepper flakes
2 cloves garlic, grated
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, add soy sauce, hot sauce, chilli pepper flakes, hot sauce, garlic, and vinegar. Stir until well blended.
2. Place an oven-proof large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
3. Add oil and allow it to become hot.
4. Rub each chicken breast with salt and pepper.
5. Prepare the oven and preheat to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
6. Add the chicken breasts into the skillet and sear each side for 5 minutes or until they turn brown.
7. Transfer the skillet into the preheated oven and roast the chicken breasts for about 15 minutes. Make sure to baste each chicken from time to time during the cooking time.
8. Remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes at room temperature.
9. Serve warm with the sauce. Enjoy!
