My sister’s speciality, banana bread chocolate chip cookies. It is the same ingredients she always uses and made a business out of it. A huge hit, satisfyingly delicious, and perfectly sweet cookies filled with fresh mashed bananas and chocolate chips. You can make these in a heartbeat, super simple, not fussy, and ready in under fifteen minutes. I am sure that everyone will want more than a piece!
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup mashed bananas (about 2 medium bananas)
1/2 cup sour cream
1 stick butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 c mini chocolate chips
1/2 c walnuts, chopped
Step 1: In a small saucepan, heat the butter until browned and nutty.
Step 2: Take the pan out of the heat and stir in the white and brown sugars. Allow cooling for at least 5 minutes. Then, transfer this into a large mixing bowl before adding in the egg and vanilla. Mix well and add in the mashed banana and sour cream. Mix until incorporated.
Step 3: And the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a different bowl.
Step 4: Add in the flour mixture into the banana mixture and mix well.
Step 5: If using, fold in the chocolate chips and nuts. You are welcome to use raisins, toffee bits, pecans, etc.
Step 6: Place the dough in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to sit. At this point, the dough should be sticky.
Step 7: Onto the cookie sheets, drop an inch ball of dough 2-inches apart from each other.
Step 8: Place inside the oven and bake for about 10 to 13 minutes at 350 degrees or until the edges are brown.
