The delicious sauce alone of this Bang Bang Shrimp is more than enough to let you know that you are in for a treat! Wait until you bite through the shrimp. It is simply the best!
Ingredients:
Bang Bang Sauce:
1/2 tsp sriracha sauce or less or more to taste
1/2 c mayo
1/4 c sweet chili sauce
Bang Bang Shrimp Batter:
3/4 c cornstarch
1 c Panko bread crumbs more if needed
1–2-pound jumbo shrimp shell off and deveined
1 tbsp avocado oil for brushing the air fryer pan and shrimp
1 tsp parsley or cilantro, finely chopped, for garnish
1/2 c buttermilk
Directions:
1. Prepare the Air Fryer and preheat to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F. Add a bit of avocado oil.
For the Bang Bang Sauce:
1. Add the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha into a mixing bowl. Whisk until well blended.
For the Shrimp:
1. Add cornstarch into a mixing bowl.
2. In three mixing bowls, add cornstarch, buttermilk, and breadcrumbs.
3. Add one shrimp at a time into the cornstarch, buttermilk, and breadcrumbs. Toss until well coated. Shake off any excess coating and repeat the process with the rest of the shrimp.
4. Place the shrimp into the preheated Air Fryer.
5. Cover the Air Fryer, then cook the shrimp for about 5 minutes.
6. Turn the shrimp, then brush each with a bit of oil. Cook for another 3 to 5 minutes or until done.
7. Transfer the shrimp onto a serving plate.
8. Drizzle the Bang Bang Sauce on top. Make sure to coat them well.
9. Sprinkle freshly chopped herbs on top to garnish.
10. Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Stovetop Method:
1. Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
2. Add a bit of oil and allow it to become hot.
3. Add the coated shrimp, then cook each side for about 3 minutes.
4. Drizzle the Bang Bang Sauce over.
5. Serve and enjoy!
