If you are a chocoholic like me or even if you are not, still you’ll dig this chocolate cake. Moist, soft cake with a decadent chocolate frosting. Every bite is paradise! This heavenly dessert is like a cloud of goodness. Will surely satisfy your sweet tooth and will keep you craving for more! Excellent for any occasion or simply as a dessert in any given day.
I made this exact cake for my friend’s wedding anniversary and everyone loved it! I never meant to please anybody but heck, this cake did! Try this and be ready because everyone will want a piece and ask you for the recipe. This best chocolate cake sure is a keeper and to die for!
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups of sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup strong black coffee, cooled
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon real vanilla extract
1/2 cup margarine, softened
2 ounces melted unsweetened chocolate, cooled
3 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons real vanilla extract
Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Use a stand mixer to combine.
Step 2: Add in the eggs, coffee, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla. Continue to beat at medium speed for 2 minutes more until the batter is thin.
Step 3: Transfer the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan or two 9-inch cake pans.
Step 4: To make the frosting, mix the margarine, unsweetened chocolate, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract using a hand or stand mixer.
Step 5: Generously frost the cooled cake.
Step 6: Slice a piece and serve. Enjoy!
