Ribs cook to perfection for almost 4 hours! These delicious treats never fail to make our every meal awesome! This is a must-try recipe! I know you are going to love it. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
3 tbsp Butter, divided
2 c Beef Broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/3 c Onion, minced
2 Carrots, peeled and minced
2 Stalks of Celery minced
1/2 c Flour
1 tbsp Liquid Smoke
1 tbsp Flour
4 Sprigs Fresh Thyme
6 Cloves of Garlic, minced
1/2 c Balsamic Vinegar
4 pounds of Beef Short Ribs
2 tsp Olive Oil
2 Sprigs Fresh Rosemary
Mashed Potatoes for Serving
2 Bay Leaves
1 tsp Kosher Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
In a pie dish, add pepper, flour, and salt. Whisk to mix.
Coat each rib with the flour mixture and remove any excess.
Place an oven-proof pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high. Add a bit of olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Put 4 ribs into the pot, then sear each side for a few minutes until brown. Transfer them onto a clean plate. Repeat with the rest of the ribs.
Reduce the heat to medium, then add butter and olive oil to the pot.
Add garlic, celery, carrots, and onions. Sauté for a few minutes until soft and aromatic.
Add the rest of the flour, then whisk and cook for about 30 seconds. Add Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, vinegar, and beef broth. Whisk and simmer.
Add bay leaves and herbs. Stir to mix.
Put the ribs back into the pot and cover it with a lid. Remove from the heat.
Place the pot in the preheated oven and cook the ribs for 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours.
Remove from the oven and discard the bay leaves.
Serve right away with mashed potatoes. Enjoy!
Notes:
Leftovers can last up to 3 to 4 days in the fridge. Make sure to put them in an airtight container.
