One of my favorite way to enjoy potatoes. These buttered fried potatoes are the most delicious side dish that is excellent to pair with any main dish. The potatoes are creamy and soft on the inside and crispy and golden on the outside. Serve them by themselves or with eggs for breakfast or roast chicken if served for dinner. These are also amazing as toppings for soup.
For this recipe, you can use varieties of potatoes, but the go-to has been Yukon gold. Yukon gold potatoes have a creamy, buttery texture. Russet potatoes are also an amazing choice. Both Russet and Yukon gold have high starch, making them ideal for roasting or frying at high temperatures.
This recipe requires just five simple ingredients that you already have on hand. You’ll find no excuse to make these butter-fried potatoes. It’s seriously simple to make and ready in a breeze. 4 ½ tbsp butter
½ onion, diced
2 large potatoes, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 ½ tbsp butter
HOW TO MAKE BUTTER-FRIED POTATOES
Melt 4 1/2 tbsp of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Once the butter has melted, add the potatoes and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
In another skillet over medium heat, add the remaining 1 1/2 butter. Let it melt, then add the garlic and onion. Saute for about 5 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and the onion is translucent. Into the potatoes, transfer the garlic mixture.
Let it cook for additional 10 minutes or until the potatoes are completely cooked and tender.
Take the skillet off the heat and serve the butter-fried potatoes immediately. Enjoy!
