1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp onion powder
3/4 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp chili powder – you can add more if you like the heat
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp brown sugar KETO: use a brown sugar substitute
1/4 tsp cracked black pepper to taste
1/2-3/4 tsp cayenne pepper – you can add more if you like the heat
Steak:
1/4 c. butter
23 ounces (650 grams) steak, cut into 2-inch cubes (Sirloin, Rump, New York Strip, Porterhouse, or Ribeye)
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1-2 tbsp canola oil, divided
How to make Cajun Butter Steak Bites
Step 1: In a shallow bowl, combine the Cajun seasoning. Toss in the steak bites until evenly coated.
Step 2: In a skillet or pan, heat 2 tbsp oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak bites (in batches) and sear for about 2 to 3 minutes per side until the edges are crispy and browned. If needed, add extra oil. Set the steak bites aside when done.
Step 3: Adjust the heat to medium. In the skillet, melt the butter. Then, add the chopped garlic and saute for about 30 seconds until aromatic, while scraping up the browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Step 4: Remove the pan from the heat and return the steak bites to the pan. Toss well until evenly coated in the garlic butter.
Step 5: Serve the Cajun Butter Steak Bites warm. Enjoy!
