These heavenly treats never fail to make me smile every time! This is a very simple recipe that you can try if you are having trouble finding the best dessert to serve. These Candied Yams are my go-to treats whenever I have friends over. They love them so much that I always make sure to have the ingredients in my fridge. This recipe will only take you less than an hour to prepare. Try it now, and you will surely be amazed. Don’t forget to share the recipe with your peers as well. Ingredients:
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 c brown sugar
½ c (1 stick) butter
2 (15 ounces) cans of yams
Directions:
1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
2. Drain the yams, then put them into a small baking dish.
3. Slice a stick of butter into small pieces, then scatter them all over the baking dish.
4. Add vanilla extract, salt, and brown sugar on top of the butter and yams.
5. Put the baking dish inside the preheated oven and bake the Candied Yams for about 25 to 30 minutes or until done.
6. Remove the Candied Yams from the oven and allow them to rest for a few minutes at room temperature.
7. Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Feel free to double this recipe according to the number of people you are serving for.
This recipe is not great to be frozen. I do not recommend freezing them because they tend to become watery.
You can use fresh or frozen yams for this recipe. They both taste perfect!
