Ingredients:
4 Chop House by Holten Angus Sirloin Steak Burgers
2 large sweet onions, peeled, halved, and thinly sliced
8 slices of thick-cut sourdough or rye bread
8 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
1/3 c mayonnaise
2 tbsp ketchup
4 slices of Swiss cheese
4 slices of medium cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp yellow mustard
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
Directions:
1. Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to low.
2. Add 2 tbsp of butter and allow it to melt.
3. Add the onions, then cook for 30 minutes or until they turn golden brown. Make sure to stir from time to time.
4. In a mixing bowl, add ketchup, garlic powder, mustard, black pepper, and mayonnaise. Stir until well blended.
5. Place another large cast-iron skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
6. Add 2 tbsp of butter and allow it to melt.
7. Add the burger patties and cook all sides for a few minutes until done. Transfer then patties onto a clean plate.
8. Add sauce to all the bread slices, then spread it evenly.
9. Add onions over 4 prepared bread slices, then add a burger patty on top. Top each with the rest of the bread slices.
10. In the empty skillet, add butter and allow it to melt over medium-low heat.
11. Add the sandwiches into the skillet and toast each side for a few minutes until they turn golden brown.
12. Transfer the Cast Iron Patty Melt onto serving plates.
13. Serve and enjoy!
