Ingredients
3 eggs
16 links maple breakfast sausages cooked, 1 package
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp butter, divided
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 loaf of soft white bread
1/4 tsp cinnamon
powdered sugar for serving, optional
maple syrup for serving, optional
How to make Breakfast Pigs in a Blanket
Step 1: Take sixteen center slices of white bread from the loaf, then cut the crusts off. In one piece of bread, wrap one breakfast sausage. Tightly seal the bread around the sausage by pressing the bottom edge of the bread on the board. Do the same for the rest of the sausages.
Step 2: Place the eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Whisk well until blended.
Step 3: Ready a large, nonstick skillet and preheat it over medium heat. Then, add 1 tbsp butter and let it melt. Into the egg mixture, dip eight bread-wrapped breakfast sausages and lay them into the hot, melted butter. Cook, rotating the pigs to make golden blankets on every side.
Step 4: Serve the Breakfast Pigs in a Blanket right away with powdered sugar and maple syrup. Enjoy!
