I’ve been making these Homemade Amish Caramel treats for years now, and I’m still in love with them to this day! My kids loved them too. They would always crave them all the time that’s why I make sure to have all the ingredients ready always. This recipe is very easy to prepare. It doesn’t involve baking. You just have to chill the candies in the fridge and wait until they are ready to be served! Try this recipe now, and I promise you that you and your family are going to love it. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
½ c unsalted butter
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 c heavy cream
1 c granulated sugar
¾ c corn syrup
Directions:
Apply cooking spray to a baking pan.
Place a saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Add butter, 1/4 cup of cream, sugar, and corn syrup. Stir everything until well blended. Allow the mixture to boil.
Add the rest of the cream and stir until well incorporated. Stir and cook for a few more minutes until it reaches a temperature of 240 degrees F. Remove the pan from the heat.
Add vanilla and stir until well blended.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Make sure to pop out any bubble that rises.
Place it in the fridge to chill overnight.
Remove from the fridge, then loosen it with an offset spatula.
Transfer the block onto a chopping board, then slice it into small pieces.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Place any leftovers in an airtight container.
Make sure to have a candy thermometer for this recipe to check the temperature while cooking.
Feel free to sprinkle salt over the candies for an extra flavor.
