Ingredients:
1/3 cup chili garlic sauce
2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 teaspoon grated ginger
Kosher salt
Vegetable oil, for frying
1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
1/2 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
1 Egg, beaten
1/2 cup cornstarch
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 green onions, thinly sliced
1 cup ice water
Directions:
Add egg, 1 tsp salt, cornstarch, baking powder, and ice water into a large mixing bowl. Whisk everything until well blended and turns into a thin batter.
Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Add 1/4 tbsp of oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the cauliflower into the bowl with the batter, then toss until well-coated. Shake off any excess.
Add the coated cauliflower into the hot skillet, then cook each side for about 4 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
Transfer the cauliflower onto a clean plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle a bit of salt to taste.
Add soy sauce, ginger, brown sugar, garlic-chilli sauce, and sesame oil into a mixing bowl. Stir until well blended.
Add the fried cauliflower into the bowl with the sauce, then toss until well-coated.
Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
