I love this recipe of Chocolate Buttercream Frosting! It is the perfect combination of sweetness and a little saltiness. Oh man, I hope you all give this one a try! I have listed all the ingredients and steps so all you need to do is to follow them step by step and you are in for a treat! By the way, feel free to add more ingredients to this simple recipe. 1 cup salted butter1 (at room temperature)
3 ½-4 cups powdered sugar2
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2-3 tablespoons whole milk, half-and-half, or cream
Step 1: Beat butter with an electric mixer for 3 to 4 minutes or until creamy.
Step 2: Add the 3 1/2 cups of powdered sugar, vanilla, 2 tablespoons of milk, and cocoa powder. Beat until well mixed.
Step 3: Add 1 tablespoon of milk if the frosting is dry and powdered sugar if it is too wet.
1. You can use unsalted butter instead of the salted one. Just sprinkle salt to make it a little salty.
2. Let the butter sit at room temperature as well.
3. Sift the cocoa powder and powdered sugar if they are grainy.
4. I use heavy cream because it makes the frosting lighter.
