1 ½ c all-purpose flour
1 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp nutmeg
½ c white sugar
⅓ c shortening
½ c milk
½ c white sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
6 tbsp margarine, melted
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Apply baking spray in 12 muffin cups.
Step 3: Add the flour, baking powder, nutmeg, flour, and salt to a large mixing bowl. Whisk until well mixed.
Step 4: In another mixing bowl, add the shortening and ½ cup of sugar. Stir until well blended.
Step 5: Add the egg and beat until well combined.
Step 6: Transfer the flour mixture into the shortening mixture and stir until well mixed.
Step 7: Add the milk gradually and stir every addition.
Step 8: Fill each prepared muffin cup with the batter.
Step 9: Place them inside the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes.
Step 10: Meanwhile, in a small mixing bowl, add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and ½ cup of sugar. Whisk until well mixed.
Step 11: Remove the muffins from the oven and the pans.
Step 12: Dip each hot muffin into the melted margarine, then into the sugar, and lastly into the cinnamon mixture.
Step 13: Serve immediately. Enjoy!
