This recipe has always been a part of my family since I was a kid! My grandma used to make this delicious Classic Smashed Burger all the time! Now, allow me to share it with you! Give this recipe a try and I promise you that it is worth all your time and effort today! The best thing about this recipe is that you are more than welcome to modify it to your liking! Ingredients:
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
8 slices of vine-ripe tomatoes
2 c shredded iceberg lettuce
4 slices of American cheese
1 tbsp grated yellow onion
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 1/2 lbs. Certified Angus Beef ® ground beef, 80/20 lean
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 c mayonnaise
4 white hamburger buns
2 tsp hot sauce
2 tbsp butter, room temperature
Directions:
1. Make eight even meatballs out of the ground beef. Place them inside the fridge.
2. Add mustard, mayonnaise, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and grated onion into a mixing bowl. Stir until well blended. Place it inside the fridge as well.
3. Place a large cast-iron skillet on the stove and turn the heat to high.
4. Add butter and allow it to melt.
5. Add the buns, then toast each side. Transfer onto clean plates.
6. Add the meatballs to the skillet, then press each to turn them into 1/4-inch patties.
7. Sprinkle salt and pepper and spread 1 tsp of sauce over each patty to taste. Sear each side for about 2 minutes.
8. Flip the patties, then add a slice of cheese over four of them. Sear for a minute.
9. Assemble burgers.
10. Serve and enjoy!
Note:
Feel free to assemble the burgers according to your preference.
