Easy Big Fat Yeast Rolls

by Sheryl August 7, 2020

Serves: 12 | Prep: 1 hour | Cook: 20 minutes

This is my favorite side – crisp and buttery outside and fluffy on the inside. An easy dinner roll that my family love and great when serve hot.

I love how I can make this rolls ahead and refrigerate when ready to bake and serve. A real treat for a busy mom like myself. And with only a few simple ingredients, I can make this delicious bread whenever I want to. These Big Fat Yeast Rolls are tender, fluffy, chewy, and buttery. Super easy to make and can feed the whole town! This has been my go-to ever since. It’s a real keeper and a must-have recipe.

Ingredients

1 cup water, warm
1 pkg active dry yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1 large egg, beaten
3 1/2 – 4 cups all-purpose flour

How to Make Easy Big Fat Yeast Rolls

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, pour water and yeast, then, add in the sugar, salt, butter, and eggs. Use a dough hook to beat the mixture until incorporated.

Step 3: Add in the flour and combine until a soft dough forms. The dough should be smooth and not sticky.

Step 4: Knead the dough onto a floured board a few times until smooth.

Step 5: Once the dough is smooth, transfer it to a greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and store in a warm place for about 45 minutes to rise.

Step 6: After the dough has risen, punch down and turn out onto the floured board.

Step 7: Form the dough into 12 individual rolls. Put the rolls in a greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan and allow the rolls to rise for at least 30 minutes.

Step 8: Then, place inside the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes.

Stepp 9: Once done, remove from the oven and brush the tops with melted butter or equivalent.
