Ingredients:
1 tbsp tomato paste
1/3 c water
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c ketchup
2 tsp yellow mustard
Toasted buns, for serving
1 small sweet onion, diced
1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 small green bell pepper, diced
Directions:
Place a large non-stick skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high. Add oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the ground beef to the hot skillet, then cook for a few minutes until crumbly and brown.
Add the bell pepper and onion, then sauté for a few more minutes until soft and translucent.
Add the garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds or until aromatic. Discard any accumulated far from the beef.
Add the tomato paste, then stir and cook for about a minute to remove the raw taste.
Add mustard, water, salt, red pepper flakes, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper. Stir until well incorporated. Cook for 10 more minutes.
Serve on toasted buns. Enjoy!
Notes:
Crockpot Method:
Sauté all the ingredients in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Transfer everything into a crockpot.
Cover and seal the crockpot, then cook for about 4 hours on a low setting or 2 hours on a high setting.

When freezing, make sure to cool the meat mixture at room temperature before putting them in an airtight container. They can last up to 3 months.
Thaw completely before reheating.
