This Egg in a hole is another of my favorite breakfast recipes. This has many names and has once been known as Toad in a hole. If you are looking for an easy and quick breakfast, you should not miss this recipe! This is a simple yet super fun way to dress up your toast and eggs!
INGREDIENTS
1 egg
2 tablespoons butter
salt and pepper
1 slice of Texas Toast
How to make Egg In A Hole
Step 1: Press a hole in the center of the slice of bread using a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass.
Step 2: Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once melted and the pan is evenly coated with the butter, lay the slice of bread in the skillet. In the middle of the hole of the pieces of bread, crack the eggs. You can toast the center of the bread in the pan, too.
Step 3: Cook the eggs for about 30 to 45 seconds until the eggs are slightly set on the bottom. To taste, season the egg with salt and pepper. After a minute, flip the bread and season the other side.
Step 4: Allow the eggs to cook to your preferred doneness and you have a golden brown toast.
Step 5: Serve the egg in a hole right away with the center of the bread to dip into the yolk. Enjoy!
TIPS:
Make sure to monitor the heat for the best-cooked eggs. The goal here is to have toasted golden brown bread with the perfect egg that is not burned or browned.
You can cook the eggs until cooked through if you do not prefer runny yolks.
