I never would have tasted perfection if it wasn’t for this French Onion Chicken Bake! I am so glad that I gave this recipe a try because it is simply the best! Ingredients:
4 Chicken Breasts, boneless skinless
4 tablespoons Butter
4 cloves Garlic, minced
4 Onions, peeled and sliced
2/3 c Low Sodium Beef Broth
2 tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar
1 teaspoon thyme
1/2 c Parmesan Cheese, shredded
1 c Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon Pepper
Directions:
1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
2. Apply cooking spray in a baking dish.
3. Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
4. Add butter and allow it to melt.
5. Add the onions and sauté until translucent. This usually takes about 5 minutes.
6. Turn the heat to medium-low, then add the garlic, thyme, and pepper. Sauté until aromatic.
7. Add the balsamic vinegar and beef broth, then stir until well blended. Simmer everything for 10 minutes or until the onions caramelize.
8. Add 1/3 of the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
9. Arrange the chicken breasts over the onion layer, then season with salt.
10. Spread the rest of the onions over the chicken.
11. Top everything with a generous amount of Parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
12. Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until done.
13. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes at room temperature.
14. Serve and enjoy!
