Ingredients:
3 c broccoli florets
¼ c packed brown sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 tsp sesame oil
1/2 c reduced-sodium soy sauce
¼ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
8 oz. flank steak, sliced against the grain
8 oz. wide rice noodles
8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
3 garlic cloves, minced
Directions:
Place a large pot with water on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to boil. Add the noodles, then cook for a few minutes until firm to bite.
Add the broccoli into the pot about 5 minutes before the noodles are cooked. Drain and set aside.
Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high. Add olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the steak into the hot skillet, then cook for a few minutes until brown.
Add mushrooms and garlic, then sauté for about a minute or until aromatic and soft.
In a mixing bowl, soy sauce, add ginger, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, red pepper, and pepper. Whisk everything until well incorporated.
Put the noodles and broccoli into the skillet with the steak together with the sauce. Toss everything until well combined.
Remove from the heat.
Serve right away. Enjoy!
Notes:
I highly recommend using flank steak for this recipe because it’s soft and easy to cook.
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then put them in the fridge. Reheat for a few minutes before serving again.
