This easy and quick chicken dinner takes only less than twenty minutes to make. With rich garlic butter sauce with a splash of wine for added flavour, this tender and juicy Garlic Butter Chicken surely will be your new obsession.
3 tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, pounded to an even thickness (4 average-sized breasts)
1 to 2 tsp 21 Salute Seasoning or poultry seasoning
1 tsp kosher salt, or to taste
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
1/2 c. white wine* or chicken broth, or as necessary
3 tbsp unsalted butter, or more if you want extra sauce
1 tbsp garlic, finely minced; or to taste
2 tsp fresh parsley, optional for garnishing
How to make Garlic Butter Chicken
Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Evenly season the pounded chicken with 21 Salute, salt, and pepper. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes. Make sure to not disturb the chicken as it cooks. Flip after 5 minutes and continue to sear the other side for 5 minutes more until cooked through.
Step 2: Using a slotted spatula, transfer the chicken to a plate and allow it to rest.
Step 3: Pour in the wine or broth and deglaze the skillet. Let the liquid bubble up and steam for a couple of seconds.
Step 4: Add in the butter, stirring continuously for about a minute to let it melt.
Step 5: Add in the garlic and cook for a minute more, stirring until aromatic.
Step 6: Turn off the heat before adding the chicken back to the skillet. Flip the chicken around and spoon the sauce over.
Step 7: Garnish with parsley if desired and enjoy immediately.
1. For this recipe, I like to use white wine as the flavour is better than the chicken broth. Although, using broth is okay. It all depends on your preference.
2. Place the chicken in an airtight container and store it in the fridge for up to 5 days or up to 4 months in the freezer.
