Who’s up for steak, potatoes, and garlic butter? Yeah, me too! This recipe has become a part of our lives since my siblings and I are just kids. My mom makes this amazing dish until this day. It is a very easy, simple yet very delicious meal that you will surely enjoy with your family and friends. Tonight’s dinner is gonna be awesome. Just follow these simple steps and you are good to go! INGREDIENTS
2-4 petite steaks *see note
salt and pepper to taste
garlic powder to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
2-4 pounds baby potatoes, diced
2-6 tablespoons salted butter, soft enough to mash with a fork one tablespoon per steak, plus two tablespoons for the potatoes
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon dried Italian herb blend
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
How to make Garlic Butter Steak and Potatoes Skillet
Step 1: Ready the oven and preheat to 400 degrees.
Step 2: Add n the garlic, butter, and dried herbs into a small mixing bowl. Stir until combined then set aside.
Step 3: Season the steaks with a lot of salt, pepper, and garlic powder on each side.
Step 4: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 5: Add a little oil. Enough to sear the steaks.
Step 6: Add the steaks and sear for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until the color turns brown.
Step 7: Place the cooked steaks in a clean plate then set aside.
Step 8: In the same skillet, add in the potatoes then season with salt, garlic powder, and pepper to taste. Saute’ for 3 to 5 minutes until they turn color brown.
Step 9: Put the steaks back and place them on the other side of the pan.
Step 10: Remove from the heat and place the skillet into the preheated oven and cook for another 15 to 20 minutes or until the potatoes are soft and tender and the steak is cooked to your liking.
Step 11: Remove from the oven and add 1 tablespoon garlic butter on each steak and potatoes. Allow it to melt on top.
Step 12: Garnish with chopped parsley and thyme. Serve and enjoy!
Note: Do not use thin cuts of steak because it cooks fast and it will be overcooked.
