Ingredients:
2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 large white onion, diced
1 (8 oz.) package egg noodles
1 c sour cream
1 (3 oz.) package cream cheese
1 lb. ground beef
½ c shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, or more to taste
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp salt
1 tsp white sugar
Directions:
1. Put a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
2. Add the beef, then cook until crumbly and brown. Remove excess grease.
3. Add garlic salt, tomato sauce, and salt. Stir until well blended. Simmer for about 20 minutes.
4. Remove the skillet from the stove and cover it.
5. Place a large pot with salted water on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to boil.
6. Add the egg noodles and cook until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
7. Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
8. Apply cooking spray in a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
9. In a mixing bowl, add onion, sour cream, and cream cheese. Stir until well combined.
10. Add 1/2 of the noodles into the prepared casserole dish and spread it evenly.
11. Add 1/2 of the sour cream mixture and spread it evenly.
12. Add 1/2 of the ground beef mixture on top and spread it evenly. Repeat the process until everything is arranged in layers.
13. Sprinkle a generous amount of cheddar cheese on top.
14. Put it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 25 minutes or until the cheese has melted completely.
15. Remove from the oven.
16. Serve and enjoy!
