This luscious Baked Egg Custard is super legit! You have got to give this recipe a try and taste it yourself. Enjoy!
1 c unsalted butter
¾ c white sugar
1 large Egg
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
Egg Custard Filling:
½ c white sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 c milk
1 pinch of ground nutmeg, or to taste
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
Step 2: Apply cooking spray in a deep-dish pie plate.
Step 3: In a small mixing bowl, add egg, butter, and sugar. Beat until well blended.
Step 4: Add the flour and beat until a dough forms. Use your hands to knead the dough.
Step 5: Sprinkle flour on a flat surface and place the dough on it, then roll it.
Step 6: Transfer the rolled dough into the prepared pie plate and spread it evenly on the bottom.
Step 7: In a small mixing bowl, add the eggs and sugar. Beat until well blended.
Step 8: Add the vanilla extract and beat until well mixed.
Step 9: Add the cold milk gradually and stir until well blended.
Step 10: Transfer the custard over the prepared dough and spread it evenly on top.
Step 11: Sprinkle nutmeg on top of the custard.
Step 12: Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean after inserting it in the middle.
Step 13: Remove from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 1 hour at room temperature.
Step 14: Serve and enjoy!
