Super tender and seriously juicy pork chops clothed in a sticky honey garlic sauce. Serve the chops with zucchini stir fry or cauliflower rice for a healthy dinner option.
INGREDIENTS
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp no-salt ketchup
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
4 (4 oz. each) bone-in pork chops, fat trimmed
2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
2 tbsp honey
How to make Honey Garlic Baked Pork Chops
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees F.
Step 2: Place the honey, garlic, soy sauce, ketchup, chili sauce, and oregano in a small mixing bowl. Mix well until blended.
Step 3: In a large bowl, place the pork chops. Over the pork chops, pour the sauce and toss well until the meat is coated.
Step 4: In an oven-safe 12-inch skillet, heat the olive oil on medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sauce. Sear both sides of the pork chops (2 minutes on each side) until browned. Take the skillet off the heat, then add the butter.
Step 5: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 15 to 18 minutes or until the chops are completely cooked and the internal temperature of the meat reaches 160 degrees F.
Step 6: To a serving plate, transfer the pork chops and spoon the sauce over. Before serving, garnish with some parsley. Enjoy!
NOTES:
HONEY GARLIC PORK CHOPS ON THE GRILL:
Set aside 2 tbsp honey garlic sauce for basting. In the remaining honey garlic sauce mixture, coat the chops. On a greased grill, place the chops. Close the lid and cook on medium-high heat for about 5 minutes on each side, basting 2 times as they cook.
TO MAKE IN ADVANCE:
In a large ziplock bag, place the pork chops. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chops. Seal the bag and rub it to coat the chops. Place in the fridge for up to 8 hours. At least 10 minutes before cooking, set it on the counter.
TO FREEZE:
In a large ziplock bag, place the pork chops. Over the chops, pour the honey garlic sauce. Seal the bag tightly and freeze. The night before, take the bag out of the freezer and defrost it in the fridge.
