Just like a lasagna, but with the mood of beef stroganoff. This Husband’s Delight Casserole has been my family’s favorite and an easy dinner option you can make in a cinch.
This easy recipe calls for just a few simple ingredients, most of which you probably have on hand. This casserole can be assembled with minimal effort. If you want to experiment, you are welcome to use different types and combinations of cheese.
If you love lasagna, this casserole tastes like one, but with a touch of tanginess from the sour cream. So good, even the kids approved of this casserole!
This casserole truly is my husband’s favorite as the name claims. Super cheesy, meaty, and bursting with flavor. Enjoy this casserole with a side salad for a simple, filling dinner that your entire family will love!
INGREDIENTS
12 ounces egg noodles
2 c. sour cream
1 pound ground beef
1/2 white onion, chopped
1 (24 ounces) jar of marinara sauce
3 ounces cream cheese
2 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
1 tsp garlic salt
How to make Husband’s Delight Casserole
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain when done, and set the pasta aside.
Step 3: Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until brown. Season with garlic salt. If needed, drain the excess grease. Then, add the marinara sauce. Stir and simmer for about 10 minutes.
Step 4: Place the sour cream, cream cheese, and onion in a medium bowl. Mix well until combined.
Step 5: Arrange half of the noodles in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with the meat mixture, sour cream mixture, and the rest of the noodles.
Step 6: Cover the casserole with cheese.
Step 7: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 25 minutes.
