These juicy chicken thighs cooked on the stovetop are one of the ultimate weeknight dinners! Super easy to make and ready in less than twenty minutes.
INGREDIENTS
1 ½ lbs. (about 6 chicken thighs) boneless, skinless chicken thighs
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp chili powder
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
fresh chopped parsley, for garnish
½ c. low sodium chicken broth, (or use wine or juice)
salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste
How to make Juicy Stovetop Chicken Thighs
Step 1: In a large skillet, heat the oil on medium heat.
Step 2: In the meantime, season the chicken thighs with onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
Step 3: To the skillet, once the oil is hot, add the seasoned chicken thighs, smooth side down, and sear for about 5 to 6 minutes. Flip and continue to cook for another 6 to 7 minutes until no longer pink.
Step 4: Then, add the butter along with the minced garlic. Cook for another 20 to 30 seconds until aromatic. Pour in the chicken broth, stirring to release any crispy bits on the bottom of the skillet. Cook for a minute more.
Step 5: Take the pan off the heat when done. Before serving, garnish the chicken thighs with some fresh chopped parsley. Enjoy!
NOTES:
Make sure not to move the chicken thighs around as they cook. Allow them to cook for about 5 minutes or until they can easily be flipped.
In this recipe, you can use either boneless or bone-in chicken thighs. Remember that bone-in chicken will take longer to cook. To check the doneness of the chicken, use an Instant Read Meat Thermometer. Once the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees F, the chicken is done.
A splash of chicken broth will help scrape the bits from the bottom of the pan after adding the butter and garlic.
Instead of chicken thighs, you can use chicken breasts.
