Lazy Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars are one of my favorite treats! I have been eyeing this recipe for quite some time, and I am glad I gave this a try. These are the best, easiest chocolate chip cookie bars I’ve made!
To make this easy recipe, all you need are four simple ingredients; cake mix, butter, eggs, and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Mix the ingredients well, bake, and you are all set! I like to chill this in the fridge for about an hour before cutting it into squares and serving. But you can also enjoy these chocolate chip cookie bars warm. Add a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for an extra layer of goodness! And do not forget to drizzle with extra chocolate syrup!
This four-ingredient dessert is so easy, versatile, and tasty! These are not thick bars. My husband commented this is like a sheet pan cookie. It is soft and gooey loaded with chocolate chips.
Ingredients
1 yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter
1 bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 eggs
How to make Lazy Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
Step 1: In a bowl, place the butter and let it melt. Whisk in the egg, one at a time, until completely mixed. Add the cake mix and beat well until blended. Then, fold in the chocolate chips.
Step 2: Into a greased baking pan, pour the batter, pressing it down and spreading using a spoon.
Step 3: Place in the preheated 350 degrees oven and bake for about 9 to 13 minutes (if using a larger pan) or 25 to 28 minutes (for smaller pans) until the bar is lightly browned.
Step 4: When done, take the pan out of the oven and allow the bar to chill in the fridge for about 1 hour.
Step 5: When ready to serve, slice into bars using a knife. You can keep these chocolate chip cookie bars in an airtight container. Enjoy!
