Make your favorite Lemon-Cream Cheese Crescent Danish at home with this easy recipe using just a few simple ingredients. And serve this Danish fresh for breakfast any time!
Ingredients
Danish:
8 tsp lemon curd
1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Dough Sheet or 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls (8 Count)
3 tbsp powdered sugar
1/3 c. cream cheese spread (from 8 ounces container)
Glaze:
2 to 3 tsp milk
1/2 c. powdered sugar
How to make Lemon-Cream Cheese Crescent Danish
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 375 degrees F.
Step 2: After taking the dough out of the can, cut it into 8 slices using a serrated knife. On a cookie sheet, place the dough about 2 inches apart. Into a 3-inch round, press each slice, leaving a ridge around the edge.
Step 3: Place the cream cheese and 3 tbsp powdered sugar in a small bowl. Mix well. On the center of each dough round, spoon around 2 tsp of the cream cheese mixture, lightly spreading. Then, place 1 tsp lemon curd on top.
Step 4: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven when done and allow the Danish to cool on the cookie sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring it to a serving plate.
Step 5:Whisk half a cup powdered sugar with enough milk in a small bowl until drizzling consistency. Over the Danish, drizzle the glaze.
Step 6: Serve the Danish warm. Enjoy!
Tips:
1. You can use any leftover lemon curd for filling pastry or filo cups. You can also serve it over a pound cake or as a filling in yellow or white cupcakes.
2. Skip the lemon curd and sprinkle the cream cheese with mini chocolate chips to change up the flavor. If desired, you can leave the Danish unglazed.
3. If desired, dust the Danish with powdered sugar instead of glazing.
