1 teaspoon ground mustard
2 ounces bourbon
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
Cracked black pepper
Step 1: Place a large pot with enough salted water on the stove and turn the heat to high, then bring to a boil.
Step 2: Add in the cleaned, trimmed, and peeled Brussels sprouts into the boiling water. Cook for 5 minutes or until bright green.
Step 3: Drain the sprouts and rinse them with cold water, then allow it to dry.
Step 4: Place a 12-inch cast-iron skillet on the stove and turn the heat to high.
Step 5: Add in the bacon and cook for about 8 minutes until crispy and greasy.
Step 6: Add in the blanched Brussels sprouts and pecans.
Step 7: Sprinkle ground mustard on top and sear for 5 minutes or until the sprouts are crisp.
Step 8: Deglaze by adding bourbon. Make sure to scrape the bottom of the pans to get the browned bits.
Step 9: Cook for 1 minute or until the bourbon evaporates completely.

Step 11: Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.
Step 12: Remove from the heat.
Step 13: Serve right away and enjoy!
1. After blanching the sprouts, place them on a paper towel and allow them to dry, and then put them in a Ziploc bag or Tupperware. Place them inside the fridge for 24 hours.
2. When you are ready to serve, start with step 3 and you are good to go.
