This is how you make the perfect biscuits! You have got to try this recipe. These Maple Bacon Cheddar Biscuits are best served warm with your favorite cup of coffee. You are so in for a treat!
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c buttermilk
8 slices bacon, diced
6 tbsp maple syrup, divided
3/4 c unsalted butter, frozen
2 tbsp melted unsalted butter
1 tsp baking soda
4 c all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 c shredded extra-sharp cheddar cheese
4 tsp baking powder
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 225 degrees C or 450 degrees F.
Line parchment paper onto a baking sheet.
Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Add the bacon into the hot skillet, then cook for 6 minutes or until crispy. Move the crispy bacon onto a clean plate lined with paper towels to drain any accumulated grease.
Add the bacon, baking powder, baking soda, flour, salt, and cheese into a mixing bowl. Stir everything until well incorporated.
Grate the cheese and put it into the bowl with the flour mixture, then stir until well blended.
In another bowl, add 4 tbsp of maple syrup and buttermilk. Stir until well blended. Transfer the mixture into the bowl with the flour mixture, then combine until it forms into a dough.
Sprinkle flour onto a flat surface, then place the dough on it. Knead about 4 times until smooth. Form it into a 1 1/4-inch rectangle with a rolling pin. Slice it into 12 circles.
Arrange the biscuits onto the prepared sheet. Freeze them for at least 15 minutes.
Remove from the freezer, then put them in the preheated oven. Bake the biscuits for about 15 to 18 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
Meanwhile, add butter and the rest of the maple syrup into a mixing bowl. Stir until well blended.
Remove the biscuits from the oven and brush each with the maple syrup mixture.
Serve warm and enjoy!
